Belle's Star

When Big Toby and his father, Bonehead, throw Belle out of their truck at a convenience store, 12-year-old Darcy and her Auntie Ellen rescue the frightened puppy. Will Belle be able to put her past aside and build a future full of happiness?

Connie Gotsch based the main characters of Belle's Star on her dogs, Kiri and Ben. The book is her first novel for young people. She's written two others for grownups, the suspense/thriller Snap me a Future, and the mainstream/ romance A Mouth Full of Shell. A resident of Farmington, New Mexico, Connie works for KSJE, Public Radio for the Four Corners serving as Program Director, hosting the award-winning morning classical music show, ôRoving with the Arts,ö and producing a segment for authors called ôWrite On Four Corners.ö In cooperation with the Farmington Public Library, she creates the story time program, ôCuentos Hahne and Talesö for kids and kids at heart. She produces award-winning arts documentaries and arts interviews. In 2007, New Mexico Press Women named her their Communicator of Achievement.
