Beware the Bright Moon

Off the coast of Africa the Evening Star sinks with eight hundred people aboard. Not long after, the USS Washington, a state of the art American military vessel collides with a freighter and sinks off the coast of Florida.At first both incidents seem unrelated.But then two reporters for the Washington Post, Leila and Timothy Brandt, begin investigating the Bright Moon, a freighter that has been harassing shipping on the high seas.Despite official reports, they find that the so-called terrorist freighter has the speed and maneuverability of a naval frigate. In addition, the captain of the Bright Moon has identified himself and his crew as survivors from the Evening Star trying to get home. Even more preposterous is the captain's claim that his ship is really the USS Washington.Is he lying? Is the Bright Moon really the USS Washington? Is her crew really composed of shipwreck survivors? Whatever the truth is, Tim and Leila have to find it fast. With someone after them and the USS Sarasota out to get the Bright Moon with a sink on sight order, there isn't much time left.
