Dr. Muhammad Ahmad (Max Stanford) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and went to Philadelphia public schools. He attended Central State College, in Ohio (1960-1962), then dropped out of college for 12 years to work full-time in the Civil Rights and Black Power movements. He studied and worked with Malcolm X, Robert F. Williams, Queen Mother Audley Moore, James and Grace Lee Boggs, and helped form the Revolutionary Action Movement (RAM), and the African People s Party. Then he returned to school, earned a Ph.D., and is currently Assistant Professor at Temple University. He is the author of two other books.
