Bloodmoon

Bloodmoon is the tale of a woman warrior and mercenary who is chosen by the High King to command an army. Miriam Bloodmoon embarks on a great crusade to rid the ancient nation of Khathia of the clans of Raiders that inhabit it. The Raiders, clans of men sworn to Ghat, the Lord of the Twelve Hells, have increased their incursions into the Southlands and have even begun attacks against the High Kingdom of Arinon itself. But Miriam wastes no time proving her mettle; she is a bold and brilliant strategist whose traps are as merciless as her tactics are unforgiving. Her battles against the Raiders have become so legendary that villagers in neighboring kingdoms immediately recognize her banner. When the war she is fighting takes several unexpected turns, Miriam is quick to think of a way to deal with each new obstacle; and she is never afraid to face any battle herself--no matter the cost.
