It is the dawn of Christianity and the twilight of the Druids. However, Boarg, a druid whose only real power is self-delusion is taking a sabbatical from his village duties, prompted by his chief after a ruinous period of misfortune. He meets Aliana, a messenger for the water-goddess Arnemetia who took a wrong turn on the way to King Arthur's court and they set off to find their destinies. On the way they encounter Vikings suffering from limited pillaging opportunities and artistic ambitions, St. Brendan the navigator, fulfilling his dual dream of being a pirate and a dancer while away from St. Patrick's watchful eye and the legendary Irish warriors, the Fianna, suffering under the universal curse of New Management. Destinies come together in a raging battle for a new village where the good, the bad and the thoroughly inept will meet their fates, whether they like it or not.
