Death Day

Earth took three days to fall. On a day that would become known as Black Friday, a fleet of alien ships appeared out of nowhere and destroyed anything that moved. Billions of people were killed and the rest enslaved by the nomadic, technologically advanced Sauron race.
As earth's cities lie in ruins and human slaves are forced to build mysterious temples, one man emerges from the wreckage. Jack Manning used to kill in the line of duty. Now he's working for the enemy - first as a slave in the Sauron asteroid mines, then as a member of the puppet government created to ensure humanity's cooperation in the temple construction. But no one is pulling Manning's strings.
Small pockets of men and women arise against their alien oppressors, and a resistance movement is born. Though his heart is with the rebels, Manning is forced to choose between a promise to the woman he loves or his own survival instinct, an instinct that points Manning toward the temples, the heart and soul of Sauron culture - their secrets and their lies.

William C. Dietz grew up in the Seattle area, spent time with the Navy and Marine Corps as a medic, graduated from the University of Washington, lived in Africa for a year, and has traveled to six continents. Dietz has been variously employed as a surgical technician, college instructor, news writer and television producer, and currently serves as Director of Public Relations and Marketing for an international telephone company.
