British Sport - a Bibliography to 2000: Volume 3: Biographical Studies of Britsh Sportsmen, Women and Animals

This bibliography documents all that has been written in the English language on the history of sport and physical education in Britain. It includes: reference works considered to be of interest to the historian of sport in Britain including bibliographies, dictionaries, encyclopaedias and statistical records; worldwide and general histories of sport(s) making reference to the development of sport(s) and sport-related activities in Britain; general histories of sport in Britain; histories of governing bodies of sport and national teams, including their fortunes overseas; local studies on the history of sport in Britain including histories of individual clubs, teams, tournaments and sporting venues; collective and individual autobiographies, biographies and memoirs of British sportsmen and women; biographical studies of famous "British" dogs, horses, cars, etc. in respect of their sporting careers; general histories, including economic, social, intellectual, local and political histories.
