Brothers in the Kitchen is a very special cookbook and much more. It's a tribute to good friends, close collaboration and years of good times. A chance meeting, a shared love of food, and a strange bargain inspired it. In 1969 two young men from very different backgrounds met by chance and became lifelong friends. Michel Deville came to Seattle as Executive Chef at the acclaimed Mirabeau restaurant. Brendan O'Farrell was a local businessman and avid home cook. Michel asked Brendan for directions and they began to chat. Michel asked Brendan about Seattle, its history, and what the city had to offer. Brendan said to Michel, "I'll be your guide to the city and you can teach me to prepare a few classic French dishes." They sealed the bargain that day, over a glass of wine.
