BSAVA Manual of Exotic Pets

This remains the Foundation Manual for information across the range of exotic pets, from small mammals, through birds, reptiles and amphibians, to invertebrates. Commoner pets, such as rabbits, rodents and budgies retain their place. However, the ever-increasing range of non-traditional pets encountered by the veterinary surgeon in practice, is reflected in coverage of some new groups, such as marsupials, ratites and crocodilians.

Anna Meredith MA VetMB CertLas DZooMed MRCVS RCVS Recognised Specialist in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine Anna-graduated from Cambridge in 1991 and then joined the Royal (Dick) School of Vetennary Studies where she set up the Exotic Animal and Wildlife Service of which she is head. This supplies a first opinion and referral clinicaland teaching service, covering all aspects of exotic and wild animal work. Anna is a recipent fo the BSAVA Blaine award for her work in the advancement of exotic animal medicine and is co-editor of the BSAVA's Manuals of Rabbit Medicine and Surgery (2nd edition) and Rodents and Ferrets.
Cathy Johnson-Dealney DVM DpABVP-Avlan Cathy graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980, and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterniary Practitoners (Avan Practice) in 2000. She works as a partner in an exculsively exotic practice seeing both first opinion and referral cases. She is currently the President of the Association o Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and is a past-President of the Associaton of Exoticf Avian Veterinarians. She receive the Oxbow Small Mammal Health Professional Award in 2009, and was Exotic DVM of the Year 2003. She aslo serves as treasure for the Association of Northwest Avian and Exotic Veterinanians.
Si King is from Newcastle, where he lives with his wife and three children. A big, blond-bearded biker, Si's infectious laugh, charm and sense of humour have served him well for years, both in his previous career as a first assistant director and location manager for film and television, and now as a Hairy Biker. Like his best mate Dave Myers, Si is a lifelong foodie with a passion for good cooking.
Dave Myers was born and bred in Barrow-in-Furness and has had an eclectic career. He has worked as a furnaceman in a steelworks, studied Fine Art and then joined the BBC as a make-up artist specialising in prosthetics. Like Si, Dave's warm personality and huge enthusiasm for food have won him friends wherever he goes. Dave now lives on Roa Island, in Morecambe Bay with his partner and children.
