Bug Builds a Tree Fort

Another exciting Adventure with Bug. An avid outdoor loving child looking for new and exciting things to learn and experience near his home in the mountains. Bug wakes up in the morning eager to do something fun. After giving it some thought, he decides to build a tree fort in the forest near his home. Join Bug as he gathers tools and materials, solves problems and figures out how to build his fort high in the tops of the trees. Bug meets an interesting new friend as he works throughout the day.

Author and Illustrator Brent Given grew up just outside of Anaconda, a small town in South-West Montana. Living in the country away from town gave Brent, his family and friends many opportunities to run free and explore the countryside. Brent writes about the activities he was involved in as a young boy in the mountains of Montana. The name “Bug” comes from a nickname that Brent and his wife, Krisi gave to their son, Branigan. Brent has tried to include a portrayal of the loving kindness and freedom that was provided by his parents and siblings. Brent explains, “It was such a wonderful place and time to grow up and we had such a fantastic group of family and friends to share it with." Brent and his family currently make their home in Castle Rock, Colorado.
