He has authored or co-authored many books, articles, and reports on energy, nuclear weapons, and environmental issues. He has testified before Congress and appeared on national ABC, CBS, BBC, CNN, and National Public Radio news programs, among others. He has written for the Washington Post, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, Technology Review, and many other publications. He has a PhD from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences of the University of California at Berkeley, where he specialized in nuclear fusion.
