Even the Pigeon Private Detectives—PPD for short—take a vacation. Well...they try to. Plans for a relaxing weekend at the beach take a surprising turn while Detectives, Sweets, Danish, and Custard are enjoying the salt air, tasty shore treats, and ocean breezes. They can't help but become intrigued when they hear the tall tale of a long buried treasure. Soon, they're tracking down clues and taking part in a seaside stakeout!

Once again, author-illustrator Christee Curran-Bauer pokes fun at detective procedurals with kid-friendly humor, as she did in The Case of the Missing Tarts ,The Case of the Poached Painting, and The Case of the Heartbreak Heist.
