Chicago American Cities

Since 1998, the Swiss artist Ingo Giezendanner, alias GRRR, has been documenting, in black-and-white line drawings, the gamut of urban spaces where he has traveled, lived, or just stayed for a while--from his native Zurich to cities like Nairobi, New York, Cairo, Karachi and New Orleans. This chunky, cool little book is filled from front to back with full-spread images that bleed off every page. It features images of a Bart station and The Mission in San Francisco; New York City's Chinatown, Tompkins Square Park and Ground Zero; the New Orleans city jail; Hong's Bakery, Nairobi; and other assorted images from Paris, Prague, Lucerne, London, Kuala Lumpur, Berlin, Seattle, Santa Fe and Colombo, Sri Lanka, among others.
