Chloe Mckenna of Charming Forge

The author has chosen one of her favorite areas in Pennsylvania, known as "Charming Forge", as the setting for this children's story about a little girl named Chloe who joins her mother in the kitchen to make a breakfast Rice loved most as a child. It is a simple, southern breakfast treat known as "chocolate and biscuits". Rice says,"the aroma of the chocolate cooking on the oven on a Saturday morning is the most wonderful memory of my childhood, and I hope all the children who read the story will want to spend time in the kitchen with their moms or dads making this special treat". Chloe Mckenna of Charming Forge , written for Rice's granddaughter, Chloe, is also a tribute to Rice's mother who made the best chocolate and biscuits of anyone in the family.
