The authors of this work have brought together research about the needs of people with disabilities and the equipment available for them. They explain issues involved with choosing equipment and provide guidance on selection. Bringing together information about the needs of people with disabilities and the equipment available for them, this guide shows how to provide an effective match of person and product. The guide discusses issues involved in choices about equipment, including carer's requirements, funding, and the user's capacity and lifestyle, and presents decision pathways and tables to aid in choosing between specific types of equipment for seating, toileting, bathing, and moving. B&w drawings of equipment are included. The book is useful for therapists and family or professional carers. Pain is a research occupational therapist.
