Colloquial Catholics is a fictional account of a child who transitions into adulthood during the 1970'¬"s and '¬"80'¬"s. His family works diligently to escape an antiquated community, and they pour their souls into creating an existence that will cultivate prosperity and persistence. Lead character Peter develops a solid foundation of Christian principles through his family and friends, but he ultimately struggles to balance his beliefs with a growing desire for social acceptance. Initially, he uses a moral compass to navigate a path through life'¬"s encumbrances, but he ultimately finds himself rationalizing a skewed interpretation of his faith to blindly illicit an odious lifestyle. As the Catholic church becomes a mere backdrop to his crumbling existence, its teachings leads him away from a permanent transition into inequity. Peter carelessly indulges in an intoxicating lifestyle with people who are clearly disconnected from his faith, but he eventually realizes he must pay a price for the misdeeds sooner than later. As his life in the Catholic community comes full circle, he learns to appreciate the aspects of a time-honored conviction and proudly points to a holistic future. For Peter'¬"s tomorrow is expected to bring another chance to help people and another opportunity to be exactly what he'¬"s been meant to be - a Colloquial Catholic.
