A Companion Guide to Leadership for Safe Schools

This workbook is designed to accompany Leadership for Safe Schools: A Community-Based Approach. Designed by Dr. Calabrese and his doctoral students, this companion piece gets the administrator and workshop facilitator involved in developing a campus-level plan for school safety. Each section of the workbook is presented as a meeting with a time frame and a group activity. A journal afterwards allows the administrator and facilitator to think critically about the utility of the preceding section. Using the activities and the meetings together, teams will effectively learn how to implement safe schools.

Raymond Calabrese is a professor of educational leadership at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His experience as a middle and high school principal, as well as his three books and numerous articles focusing on school leadership, lend greatly to the subject matter of leadership and safe schools
