The conjugate heat transfer(CHT) problem considers the thermal interaction between a body and fluid flowing over or through it, a key consideration in both mechanical and aerospace engineering. Bringing together information garnered from more than 200 publications, Abram Dorfman considers the approximate solutions of conjugate convective heat transfer problems as addressed in early and more recent works. He then discusses theory and modern modeling methods for solving analytical and numerical conjugate convective heat transfer problems. Finally he illustrates these complex mathematical problems by presenting current applications in machinery operation and technological processes.. As a result of such interaction, a particular temperature distribution establishes on the interface of the body and fluid, which determines the heat flux distribution on the interface and the intensity of heat transfer. Hence, the properties of heat transfer in any conjugate problem are actually the properties of nonisotermal surface heat transfer with the same temperature field no matter how this field has been established. Thus, a theory of heat transfer of arbitrary nonisotheral surface is at the same time a theory of conjugate heat transfer. Such a theory that is valid for both nonisothermal and conjugate heat transfer will be given in the proposed book.
