Corpy Visits the Liver

Join Corpy on an adventure to the liver! Corpy is a red blood cell with a very important job – delivering oxygen and removing carbon dioxide inside the human body. With the help of his friend Lucy, a white blood cell, Corpy makes his first trip to the Liver! There, he learns about the specific functions of this vital organ. He meets many of the cells that make up the liver including Endy, an endothelial cell, and Cholly, a cholangiocyte who makes bile. Children (and parents!) get the chance to learn about human anatomy in a fun and engaging way. Written by board-certified cardiologist Dr. Romel C. Wrenn and his daughter Danielle C. Wrenn, Corpy Visits the liver is an exciting and educational story for children 6 years and up.

Dr. Romel Christopher Wrenn received his medical degree from the Tulane School of
Medicine and completed his cardiology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center at
Fort Sam Houston, TX. He enjoyed private practice in Alexandria, LA, until March
2012. He joined the Harry & Sally Porter Heart & Vascular Center, Fairbanks, AK,
in April 2012. Dr. Wrenn is an alumnus of Louisiana State University and served in
the United States Army Medical Corps for nine years, He is the author of "The ABCs
of the Human Body" workbook for children and "Corpy, The Little Red Corpuscle."
Board certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, Echocardiography,
Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular CT, Dr. Wrenn shares his years of
experience and a passion for patient-focused care at the Porter Heart & Vascular
Center at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
Danielle Wrenn is an alumna of the Boston Conservatory, where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.F.A. in Musical Theater. She later received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, specializing in cell and molecular biology and a minor in statistics. Danielle is currently pursuing a Master's in Biological Sciences from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Inspired by her father, she plans to pursue a career in biomedical research.
