Cultural Perspectives on Reproductive Health

This volume explores the connections between reproductive health and culture, focusing on two broad questions: How does culture shape the ways in which reproductive events are associated with health outcomes? And to what extent does the notion of reproductive health have relevance in different circumstances and cultures?

Carla Makhlouf Obermeyer is Associate Professor of Population and Anthropology in the Department of Population and International Health at Harvard University. She is currently on leave from Harvard and working as a scientist with the World Health Organization on research and evidence related to women's health.
