The Darkness Within

The Darkness Within puts an entirely new twist on the tired old tropes we've taken for granted all these years. Why would vampires turn a school full of teens if not for a little - or in this case, a LOT - of free labor? And why wouldn't these new vampire "peasants" rise up against their "lords," just like real peasants often do?I also thought it was pretty cool to pit vampires against vampires, new versus old, old versus young. I've set it all in your typical, suburban high school setting, complete with lockers slamming and sneakers squeaking in the commons and a fun, puppy dog crush on the local pizza delivery guy who turns out to be a lot more than he seems.This book has something a bit familiar, along with a whole new twist.
