Democracy and Efficiency in the Economic Enterprise

Is there a conflict between economic democracy and efficiency?Democracy and Effeciency in the Economic Enterpriseconfronts this question and its philosophical and empirical dimensions by combining chapters on the theory of the firm, ethical issues and on experiences of various forms of industrial democracy. The contributors show that these issues are of vital importance with major consequences. They argue that the end of the authority of the social bureacrats should not coincide with the beginning of the authority of capitalist counterparts.
