Derak Michael Besant: Fifteen Restless Nights

Besant's multi-media installation recreates a cross-Canada road trip, fifteen nights being the length of time it takes to make the drive including staying at roadside motels along the way. Besant's own thermal ink print drawings of motel rooms were enhanced by contributions from musicians, sound-artists, readers and a writers. This collaborative project delves into themes of memory, the human body, and text. A curatorial essay and fifteen short texts accompany illustrations of Besant's prints.
