We all are supposed to be created equal; politics, religion and society have all found ways to catergorize people for their own individuality. In South Louisiana, the culture has been built upon strong beliefs embedded with corruption passed down from generation to generation in hopes to carry out the legacy of their sacred heritage. The lifestyle I lead has yet to be accepted by many and perhaps never will, but being a lesbian is only a small fraction of the woman.Categorizing is huuman nature;it allows us to stay in the life we know, our comfort zone.So much of society is closed-minded from wanting to understand why someone may be different from them and being different can be viewed as a threat, not fit for human survival. Love's Natural Sin defines a view for most society and what they believe gay relationships to.Essence of a Controversial Lifestyle is everything that I believe and wrote abotu in these pages. That any orientation can read about to try and understand, even though gay, we are human and people just like you.We all go through hardships,we too can love unconditionally, desire a partner to build a family with and want to live a life of happiness, not be afraid of when the next gay bashing will happen. Now some view me as unworthy of love, confused,a sinner and someone who betrayed God.I among so many others are very much worthy of love, are very sure of the people we are and grew up to be.Everyone sins, so what makes being gay so different and if I have betrayed God then I would not know how to love the way that I do.My name is Kristie Michelle Carpenter and this is my life through poetry as a young gay woman.
