The Dialogue of the Government of Wales 1594

This volume is broadly divided into two main sections. The first part comprises a detailed introduction to the background of 'The Dialogue', written in 1594 by George Owen of Henllys, north Pembrokeshire, followed by an updated version of the text with explanatory notes.

John Gwynfor Jones is Emeritus Professor of Welsh History, formerly of the School of History and Archaeology at Cardiff University. His research interests concentrate on early modern history, particularly the role of the gentry in Tudor and early Stuart government and administration, concepts of order and gentility, the Protestant Reformation, the impact of the Tudor settlement on cultural life, and social and religious change in early modern Wales.
