Dictionary of American Library Biography

This second supplement to the Dictionary of American Library Biography (1978) adds 77 notable, deceased members of the library and archival communities, primarily figures who have died between the years 1987 and 2000. This second and markedly more diverse supplement also includes those notable persons whose death dates were somewhat earlier but who were not included in earlier works. Some 80 contributors from the United States and Canada provided the sketches, many based on original source material.

DONALD G. DAVIS JR., an award-winning author and editor of acclaimed books and publications, is a professor at the Graduate School of Library & Information Science and the Department of History, University of TexasAustin.
