Dr. Fager : Racing's Top Record Setter

Dr. Fager was one of the most versatile and talented racehorses of modern times. In 1968, he became the first and only horse ever to win four championship titles in a single year. He also was known for his blazing speed. Dr. Fager set a one-mile world-record time of 1:32 1/5, under 134 pounds, which lasted 29 years; and a seven-furlong track record of 1:20 1/5 at Aqueduct, under a staggering 139 pounds, which lasted 31 years. He also equaled the Aqueduct track record in the Suburban Handicap in 1:59 3/5 for one and a quarter miles under 132 pounds. Book jacket.
