El doctor Mortimer viaja a Londres buscando la ayuda de Sherlock Holmes, después de que sir Charles Baskerville aparezca muerto -en extrañas circunstancias- en un sendero de un páramo en un condado al suroeste de Inglaterra. Doctor Mortimer travels to London seeking the help of Sherlock Holmes, after Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead - under strange circumstances - on a moor path in a south west England county. Mortimer informs Holmes and Watson about the tracks of a hound that were found a short distance from the corpse. He also reads a manuscript on the "curse of the Baskervilles", which begins with Hugo de Baskerville, who was killed by an infernal hound as punishment for his wickedness.

Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle (1859-1930) fue un médico y escritor de novelas policíacas británico de origen escocés. Ejerció como médico en su primera etapa. Para completar sus ingresos económicos se decidió a escribir. Fue el creador del detective de ficción más famoso de todos los tiempos: Sherlock Holmes. Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was a Scottish-born British doctor and crime novel writer. He practiced as a doctor in the first stage of it. To complete his financial income, he decided to write. He was the creator of the most famous fictional detective of all time: Sherlock Holmes. However, he killed him when he got tired of him, resurrected him when he was claimed, and never considered this character and his hyperlogical intelligence to be his greatest legacy. He preferred his historical novels, but no one remembers them today.
