When Norma is diagnosed with cancer at 90-years-old, the doctors recommend surgery and chemotherapy, but instead she went on a road trip. Her son Tim, her daughter-in-law Remie, and her dog Ringo all pack into a mobile home, and Norma sets off on the adventure of a lifetime that introduces her to new foods and takes her up in a hot air balloon. With each passing mile, Norma's conceptions of home, family, and friendship continue to expand and the people she meets along the way turn into good friends.

Tim Baueschmidt retired at 50 to travel full time in a mobile home with his wife Norma, their giant poodle Ringo, and their daughter-in-law Raime Liddle. They have travelled over all the United States, and they feel most at home in Baja California, Mexico.
