Ethnic and Racial Studies Today

Linda Martin Alcoff teaches philosophy and women's studies at Syracuse University. Gargi Bhattacharyya is a Lecturer in the Department of Cultural Studies and Sociology at the University of Birmingham. Alastair Bonnett is a Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Newcastle, England. Martin Bulmer is Foundation Fund Professor of Sociology at the University of Surrey and Academic Director of the Question Bank in the ESRC Centre for Applied Social Surveys, London. Previously he taught at the University of Southampton, the London School of Economics and the University of Durham and has been a visiting professor at the University of Chicago, as well as briefly a member of the Government Statistical Service. Karen Henwood lectures in the School of Psychology at the University of Wales, Bangor. Richard Jenkins was trained as a social anthropologist at Belfast and Cambridge and is currently Professor of Sociology at the University of Sheffield. Sian Jones is a Lecturer in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at the University of Manchester. Caroline Knowles is a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Southampton. Previously she was Associate Professor at Concordia University, Montreal. Maria Lauret teaches American Literature in the School of English and American Studies at the University of Sussex. Before that she was a lecturer in English at the University of Southampton. David Mason is Professor of Sociology at the University of Plymouth. Panikos Panayi is a Reader in History at De Montfort University in Leicester and a fellow of the Institut fur Migrationsforschung und Interkulturelle Studien at the University of Osnabruck in Germany. Ann Phoenix works in the Department of Psychology at Birkbeck College, University of London. She held the Ribbius Peletier Visiting Professor at the University for Humanist Studies, Utrecht, Netherlands, 1997-98. John Solomos is Professor of Sociology in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science at South Bank University. Before that he was Professor of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Southampton, and he has previously worked at the Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations, University of Warwick and Birkbeck College, University of London. Rupert Taylor is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
