The current international business environment is characterized by two contradictory but at times mutually supplementary trends. Regionalization is part of the process of globalization, but it can also be a counter force to globalization as stakeholders act to protect their perceived interests. This book expands the debate on this interesting topic

Elaine Huston is a lecturer in finance at University College Dublin, Ireland. Her research interests are mainly in corporate finance, and include small business financing, mergers and acquisitions, and firm-level foreign exchange exposure. Her capital markets research interests include hedge funds performance and regulation, the characteristics of stock market returns, and the history of the managed funds industry. Her work has been published in international business (IBR and JIBS) and finance journals. Rudolf R. Sinkovics is Professor of International Business at Manchester Business School, UK, where he is currently head of the Comparative and international Business Group and director of the Centre of International Business Research. His research focuses on inter-organizational governance, the role of ICT in firm internationalization and research methods in international business. He received his PhD from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (WU-Wien), Austria. His work has been published in international business and marketing journals. Jenny Berrill is a lecturer in the School of Business Studies, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Her research interests are in the area of international finance and multinational companies. She has published articles in the Journal of Economics and Business and Research in International Business and Finance.
