Focus: Irish Traditional Music

Focus: Irish Traditional Music is an introduction to the instrumental and vocal traditions of Irish music in the context of the Irish diaspora and Celtic tradition. Intended for undergraduate and graduate area studies courses in music, ethno-musicology, anthropology, literature, and Irish Studies, the book brings together important ideas about Irish music from a rich variety of resources. Interdisciplinary elements of history, film, politics, poetry, dance, and images give a deeper context to the music.
