Food and Fuel Solutions for the Future

When Fueling the Future and Feeding the Future were released in 2003 and 2004, talk of an energy crisis was theoretical, SUVs dominated the roads, and Al Gore had yet to release his documentary. There was mass starvation in the developing world at one end of the spectrum and obesity in the developed world at the other. We were at the end of the age of abundance and at the beginning of a much more volatile age of energy and food scarcity. Since then, these two issues have become full-blown global crises. Both have had detrimental effects on the environment and both are at the root of the fragile health of the global economy.
