Foreign direct investment is an important part of an increasingly global political economy. This book explores the political and economic consequences of this type of investment in six countries located in the Global South. Qualitative country comparisons are presented by region: Thailand and the Philippines in Southeast Asia, Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire in Africa and Costa Rica and Guatemala in Central America.
