Freedom in Economics: New Perspectives in Normative Analysis

This selection of papers considers the definition and value of liberty, freedom in rights and equality of opportunity. They were originally presented at the international conference on Ethics and Economics of Liberty held June 1995 when economists and philosophers met to compare their ideas about various issues related to the introduction of freedom into the theoretical apparatus of normative economics. It is edited by a team of French economists, philosophers and political scientists, but contributors include authors from Belgium, the Netherlands and the US.
