From the Desk of Emily Dickinson: A Library Kit is a hands-on celebration of one of America’s most beloved poets. At its heart is a miniature diorama inspired by Emily’s bedroom, her creative sanctuary and the place where she penned her poems. Alongside it are blank booklets for original writing, and a set of thought-provoking prompt cards inspired by Dickinson’s themes of nature, grief, joy, and inner life. The kit invites users to slow down and connect with their own voice, just as Emily did.

The Emily Dickinson Museum comprises two historic houses in the center of Amherst, Massachusetts associated with the poet Emily Dickinson and members of her family during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The Homestead was the birthplace and home of the poet Emily Dickinson. The Evergreens, next door, was home to her brother Austin, his wife Susan, and their three children. The Museum was created in 2003 when the two houses merged under the ownership of Amherst College. The Museum is dedicated to sparking the imagination by amplifying Emily Dickinson’s revolutionary poetic voice from the place she called home.
