From Gastric Bypass to Maui... a Personal Journey

Come on this journey with me and find out how I went from size 22 Women's to size 6 Petite! ___ Before surgery I was a forty nine year old woman who weighed over 200 lbs and was considered to be morbidly obese. Isn't that a term? No sugar coating there. Weight wasn't an issue when I was young. My mother likes to tell the story of how I wore a size 6X until I was twelve years old! As a matter of fact, I had a rather good figure up until I was about twenty-one years old. Who knows what happened to change everything. ___ On my 50th birthday I was in Maui and weighed 121 lbs. It was just 12 days short of my one year anniversary since having gastric bypass surgery. All during the process, I have been asked numerous times, "If I had it to do all over again, would I have had the surgery?" Well, as with any process, my answer changed many times along the way.
