Functional and Evolutionary Ecology of Bats

Bat research during the second half of the twentieth century has enriched our knowledge of these often ignored, "secretive" mammals. Advances in genomics, computational science, geographic information systems, transponders, and miniaturized radio transmitters have yielded data that were unavailable to earlier generations of bat researchers. New technologies allow us the best and least invasive access to bat roosts in caves, mines, buildings, rock crevices, and the foliage of trees.
