The Future of Nursing Education: An International Utstein Report, provides the results of the NLN Utstein meeting in June 2025 in Helsinki, Finland. The purpose of the meeting was to identify the future priorities of nursing education as well as discuss current and future barriers and strategies to promote use of competency-based education, artificial intelligence, planetary health, and nurse well-being constructs into nursing education curricula.  It also covered the challenges and strategies to address the global nurse educator shortage. 

The Future of Nursing Education offers guidance and practical strategies on a global scale for issues that impact nurse educators today and that will affect the next generation of nurse educators. As faculty are trying to address these issues in isolation, the book provides a synthesis for ways to tackle these priorities in a variety of cultural contexts striving to identify unification of strategies that can be applied anywhere. 

No other single resource addresses these priority topics in a single book, and no other resource focuses on nurse educators and nursing education. It provides not only the report of this international Utstein meeting, but includes specific strategies that can be translated to the practice of nursing education, in the US as well as internationally.
