George Philipp Harsdorffers Universalitat

Georg Philipp Harsdrffer - lawyer, scholar and mathematician, patrician, diplomat and judge - has in recent decades become one of the most studied Baroque authors. His work had a distinct international orientation and encompassed nearly all areas of 17th century knowledge. It thus became the fulcrum for the European literary relationships and discourse of his age. The book documents this from the humanistic prerequisites to the last things of religion.
