Global Mapping of Infectious Diseases provides researchers with an opportunity to become familiar with modern techniques, approaches and data available for the global mapping of infectious diseases and the human populations they affect. This is done through reviews of available data and current modelling methods, which are applied in the book to dengue, yellow fever, malaria and geo-helminths. Some of the exciting research facilitated by global scale studies of infectious diseases is also reviewed, including the effects of phylogeny, transport networks and climate change on the past, present and future distribution of infectious diseases. An international team of leading specialists in the field gives a comprehensive overview of the practical procedures involved in all aspects of mapping infectious diseases.
