Grace Darling Victorian Heroine

In the early morning of 7 September 1838, Grace Darling, the daughter of the keeper of the Longstone Light on the Farne Islands, rowed with her father to rescue men and women from the wrecked steamer Forfarshire. Her heroism caused a national sensation - turning Grace into a national heroine and bringing her fame throughout the world.
