Diane Russell's interests include community-based conservation, human ecology, economic anthropology, agrarian studies, research methods, and international development. Diane received a Ph.D. in anthropology from Boston University in 1991 with a dissertation on the rice trade around Kisangani, Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo). From 1995-1998, she was senior program officer and social scientist for the Biodiversity Conservation Network, based in Manila and Fiji. Diane is currently team leader for Advancing Innovation and Impact at the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), Nairobi, Kenya. In 2001, she was awarded a master's in Environmental Management from Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. She lives in Nairobi with her family Camilla Harshbarger is an applied anthropologist who specializes in program design, evaluation, and organizational and community capacity building. She has consulted in international development throughout sub-Saharan Africa, Central America, and the United States, working with a wide range of institutions, including corporations, small businesses, community-based organizations, cooperatives, governments, local and international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and donors. Her work focuses on organizational effectiveness, democracy and governance, gender, household nutrition and food security, field methods for NGOs, and partnership and regional strategies for West and Southern Africa. Dr. Harshbarger received her Ph.D. in anthropology in 1995 from the University of Florida. She has conducted research in Latin America, Africa, and the United States. Her work addresses diverse topics, including state legitimacy and dispute resolution of land conflicts in Cameroon
