I would describe my book as a novel with pursuit. It is certainly a story with an objective but it is not a love story. The theme is a search for peace. The question asked is, how can you have peace with so many losers? The losers I call Second Best....And what part does a loser play in evolving a peaceful society?; and what part do the winners or the successful ones play.? The struggles and search for peace would appear very difficult because of the observed self-serving desires in human nature. People would rather stomp on each other to get ahead. Sad but true. Nevertheless, an objective of the book, Hail to the Second Best, is to observe the impediments to peace and see how the hopeless, the forlorn, forgotten and hurting in society can be lifted and fitted in by having acceptance, meaning and value.
