Halfway to Nowhere

Alex Smith is an ordinary joe lost in an ordinary world: a cruel and dreary place where nothing ever turns out as planned. He works the night shift at a dead end job that barely pays the bills, and his sleazy landlord swindles any money that's left over. His absent father suddenly walks back into his life asking for money and redemption, all the while his friends are busy forming families or moving out of the city. To put it simply, his life is a boat without oars in a sea of shallow water, and all he wishes for is some inkling to life purpose, a direction to happiness and self worth.When Lexi, a recently impregnated prostitute crosses his path, he invites her to stay with him for a time until she can get her own life together. This small act of kindness will send him down a bizarre spiral of events that will change his life in a way he never could have predicted, and into a shape that could only come from life itself.
