Hazards to Happiness

Hazards to Happiness consists of a combination of fifteen novelettes, novellas and short stories of a variety of genre written in 2010 by the Samuel A. Helm. The total length of the collection is a bit over 145,000 words of fiction. If there is one connecting theme in the whole of the collection, perhaps, that theme can be characterized as the "hero's" journey-although some of the stories fall a bit outside that theme. Each story is written in fast-paced, straight chronological order. The author's mode of writing is to just tell the story and leave much of the rest to the reader's imagination to color in as they please. For the reader who just wants to get on with it, so to speak, then these stories should fit such readers quite well.
