Heart of the West

O Henry spent fourteen years in Texas as a rancher, draftsman, bank teller, and drugstore clerk. Drawing on his experiences, he wrote a series of short stories about life on the Texas range, complete with his typical careful plotting, ironic coincidences, and surprise endings.
