English summary: Religion is essentially determined by Holiness. It manifests itself in the sacred space that is demarcated from the outer world, but occurs also at certain times in specific acts and in the most excellent human appearance. In Christianity, holiness comes from God alone, so that at first only humans can be sanctified. Very early on holy heroes are single out from within the Christian community: martyrs and other witnesses to the faith enjoy cult worship and become intermediary figures to saints. Veneration of saints is present in the liturgy and takes place in the defined space of worship, but can also be found in the secular sphere. In the European Middle Ages, saints, liturgy and space are closely related to each other. This sense of context was the focus of a meeting of the Working Group for Hagiographic Questions. Its contributors examine three thematic sections: different kinds of textual fonts and their usage contexts; church rooms and the liturgical practices taking place there; and the sacralization of secular spaces. Im Christentum geht die Heiligkeit allein von Gott aus, so dass zunachst nur Menschen geheiligt werden konnen. Schon fruh werden heilige aHeroen aus der christlichen Gemeinde herausgehoben: Martyrer und andere Glaubenszeugen geniessen kultische Verehrung und werden zu Mittlergestalten des Heiligen. Heiligenverehrung geht ein in die Liturgie und vollzieht sich im abgegrenzten Kultraum, findet aber auch im profanen Bereich statt. Im europaischen Mittelalter stehen Heilige, Liturgie und Raum daher in enger Beziehung zueinander. Dieser Sinnzusammenhang stand im Zentrum einer Tagung des Arbeitskreises fur Hagiographische Fragen. Deren Beitrager untersuchen hier in drei thematischen Abschnitten erstens verschiedene Gattungen von Schriften und deren Nutzungskontexte, zweitens Kirchenraume und die dort stattfindende liturgische Praxis sowie drittens die Sakralisierung profaner Raume.
