No Hero

E W Hornung was the brother-in-law of Arthur Conan Doyle the creator of Sherlock Holmes. Hornung created the detective Raffles as an inverted representation of Sherlock Holmes. No Hero begins with an unopened envelope. It holds a letter from a young woman asking for help. A young man has left the influence of his mother and believes he has fallen in love with a woman believed to be an adventuress. The setting is Switzerland. The narrator of the story is a friend of the boy¿s mother and he tries to help the boy see reality.
