History for All

This book aims to help the development of teaching history for all pupils in ways which are relevant, meaningful, motivating and challenging. It provides an educational rationale for teaching history to all pupils beyond the legal requirement to do so. It celebrates the experiences of many teachers in recent years who have aimed to provide appropriate opportunities for learning with pupils who previously had little or no access to history. In doing so, it aims to demystify the subject for those who find it unapproachable and provide examples of the work of teachers with pupils who have diverse learning difficulties.
